Well, heathens, fall is officially upon us here in the Northern Hemisphere. The days are shorter, the nights are longer, the shade is cooler, and combines are trundling down the roads.
Here at Awaken the North, we, too, are dutifully working to deliver the spiritual harvest to you all. I don’t know if you can feel it too, but there’s a sense of movement, of stirring. Our social media presence is steadily growing along with our membership. People are engaging with one another and trading ideas and wisdom and it is so, so good to see.
Saga Erickson, one of our wonderful Elders, held a TEDx talk recently, and our Vitki Kurt Hoogstraat will be going live this coming Wednesday (October 5th, 7pm central) to discuss Contemporary Seidr with our members. Ryan Smith, author of The Way of Fire and Ice, will be holding the rescheduled workshop ‘Introduction to Radical Heathenry’ on Tuesday (October 4th). Our Yule online auction to raise funds is coming together marvelously, making something that was a dream a reality.
Our Emmisaries are working their tails off to bring heathens in their communities together. Everywhere, the hard work that everyone has been putting in seems to be coming to fruition, and it is amazing (and exciting) to see.
I can’t wait to watch us grow even more. If you’re interested in helping us out, reach out! We’re in need of a handful of chancellors: Military Affairs, Treasury, and Racial Diversity. (Applicants for chancellorship must have a working computer and solid internet connection.) If being on the council isn’t your jam, we are always looking for more emissaries; I am also always looking for members to join the social media team and help me shape the face of the organization.
