Good Tyrâs day! Today we have Kaun yet again. I get a bit of a different feeling with it today. More of recognizing the old wound, so that we may move forward and heal. Our lives our journeys, or moments of pain, and healing. We fall down, dust off, and get back up again. A pattern we repeat probably thousands of times. In the journey we find our lessons, we have to learn from them in order to grow to our fullest potential. Through our trials comes wisdom.
á´ Kaun (“ulcer”). Wisdom through suffering.
Sound: âkâ, âgâ
Meaning: Although this rune stands for a wound, we must understand that it is through the suffering of such a wound that we gain new insight. This rune represents just that, the new insight that we gain from an illness or wound.
Norwegian rune poem **
ᴠKaun er barna bǫlvan;
bǫl gørver nán fǫlvan.
Translation **
á´ Kaun
An ulcer is fatal to children;
death makes a corpse pale.
