Goði Beast is the leader of Awaken the North’s Council. He took the reigns back in early 2020 and has worked industriously ever since to create and then to guide AtN into becoming the international success it is today. Along with the rest of the Council, he dedicates most of his free time to the growth of this organization, hoping to one day make it a household name synonymous with learning and acceptance.
He is the author of several books, including our very own “AtN’s Havamal in Everyday English”, and is currently working on both a study Havamal, as well as the next book in the series, “The Voluspa In Everyday English”.

Hail! I am Bill aka the mighty Søl. I come from the lands surrounding Detroit, Michigan, and its metropolitan suburbs. Husband and father of 3. Doggy Dad of 2. Musician, poet, gamer, and allaround lover of horror and nerd culture. I have studied general paganism and Buddhism for over 30 years and have been a Heathen for more than 11. I’m the Chancellor of the Religious Studies here at AtN. I hope to help build a foundation of unending knowledge of the Norse path for myself, our council, and our members. Without you, our work means little. At the moment our focus is on the certificate courses and Godar Training Program.

Gyðja Saga Erikson
Hi, I am Saga.
I am a lifelong artist. I consider my work to be a spiritual experience. My art is how I keep the lore of our people alive. Art and spirituality are intermingled within me and cannot help but connect to everything in their expression.
In the more mundane sense, I live with my husband, Dan, in what we call a sustainability experiment. We have few modern resources here and try to find the least invasive, and appropriate technologies that will leave the smallest footprint on Midgard. This too is part of my spirituality.
I live on the border of my society, a Hedge witch straddling worlds…on the literal border of Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, only 15 minutes’ drive from Lake Superior.
I’ve been deliberately walking this oath for over 35 years, but have always walked the old ways, even when I didn’t know that was what it was.
I’ve been a part of pagan and heathen communities, both live and virtual for the past 30 years. I enjoy leading ritual and giving my people beautiful and intense experiences to ponder and propel their own spiritual journeys. I mentor my fellows whenever possible along the way.
I’m honored to be an ordained Gythia/For Awaken the North and lead my own local Kindred/Coven, the Northern Lights Collective in rites if passage and celebrating the tides if time through the year with them.
As a Gythia, I try to aid people in finding their way on their chosen paths that fits with their own soul callings.
Gyðja Suzanne Martin
Well met! I’m Suzanne (she/her) and I’m a queer inclusive heathen living in Derbyshire, UK with my wife, Kate. I’m your Emissary in the UK for the Emissary Programme at Awaken the North, which means that I have a focus on creating and maintaining a network for inclusive heathens in my area.
I have been heathen for over 25 years, giving talks and teaching on aspects of inclusive heathenry, heathen ethics and teaching oracular rune use. I’m Gyðja for Awaken the North, as well as for Chesterfield Heathens, and hold a Masters in European Historical Archaeology. In December 2016, Kate and I began our own podcast, Frithcast, which has been releasing queer geek heathen episodes fortnightly ever since.

Awaken the North is a family and we are dedicated to helping each other grow. The only way we are able to accomplish this is through the generous financial support of our members. Every single one of our Council, Chairs, and support staff are purely VOLUNTEERS. Not a single person benefits financially from any funds within Awaken the North. Even Beast, the Leader, doesn’t get a dime. All funds are directed back into Awaken the North to pay for the website, buy supplies, help support our members, etc.
