We witnessed and celebrated several LGBTQIA observances in December, one of which was on the 8th… just for Pansexual/Panromantic Pride.

I identify as Pansexual/Omnisexual depending on what context others use. Due to December 8th being Pansexual/Panromantic Awareness Day, I wish to bring awareness of celebrities that identify and bring a history to the term Pansexual.

The dictionary meaning of Pansexual:

pansexual /păn-sĕk′shoo͞-əl/

(adjective)

• Relating to, having, or open to sexual activity of many kinds.

• Sexually attracted or open to all people regardless of gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

• Welcoming people of all sexual orientations.

(noun)

• A pansexual person.

• Someone who is attracted to all types of people regardless of gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

• A person who participates in (or is open to) sexual activities of many kinds.

How would this be different from Bisexual, and why would Pansexuals need more awareness? Before delving too deep into queer studies: Bisexuality was always gender inclusive from the beginning; Pansexual was first more akin to our definition of fluid. But in the mid to late 2010s, Pansexual begin to mean attraction regardless of gender.

Many celebrities have identified as Pansexual/Panromantic, and some may surprise you until you think more about it. Wayne Brady, a famous black comedian, opened up to state that he has always had an attraction to men, women, and all in between. Those who have watched enough of the American version of “Whose Line is it Anyway?” will remember all of the many queer interactions he had with his comedy partners. Others less surprising are Jojo Siwa and Molly Cyrus, since they have always been so open with their queerness and stated how their attraction derived from the attraction to people as they are.
