Howdy my fellow Heathens! Its Tyr’s Day yet again. Last evening, I was able to meet up with an old friend. He and I went through Navy RTC together and then ended up being stationed on the same ship. He is currently living in Illinois but has bought a piece of land less than an hour from where I live here in Arkansas. He and his family were here this past weekend to explore and plan their land. The last time we saw each other in person was probably 1996. We were able to pick up the conversation like we had never left it. Of course, we do have social media and a few of us from Company 133 (our RTC groups were organized in Companies back in the way back days of my youth) have reconnected in that way, but being able to meet up and share a meal with an old friend is always better (in my opinion) that the social medias. Not sure how this directly connects to Tyr, but it is what I was thinking about today.
Do you have old friendships that are separated by distance (real or figurative)? Do you have any traditions of gathering on a scheduled or regular basis?
Hail Tyr
Hail the ancestors
Hail Awaken the North
