In most modern Pagan, and especially Heathen circles, there is much debate on the actual timing of the ancient calendar when specific rituals and celebrations took place. Jul is one that is especially argued, with some stating it is 3 nights, some saying 12, some even claiming it lasts an entire month. Fun fact of the matter is, quite simply, they may ALL be correct.
