Couretsey of my 3 year old, today’s Rune is Perthro!
Pronunciation-PER-throw
Literal translation-Dice Cup
Though many rune definitions can seem straightforward, that ends with Perthro. This is the most mysterious of all the runes, and because of that, it is considered by many to be the rune of the runes. One of the definitions of Perthro is “lot cup,” and many believe this pertains to games or gaming. The ancient Norse took gaming very seriously and felt that the gods themselves played a hand when the dice were rolled. Perthro can very well pertain to the act of tossing dice or other playing implements out in the act of gaming, and this could have even included runes. Thus, this rune can mean the cup from which the runes are tossed, as well as the dice.
Many people then believe that destiny is already written and that it is not in their power to change it. Perthro, on the other hand, warns that this is not the case: destiny is the result of the set of decisions and choices we make during our life.
All the records of all events are stored here, so Perthro’s power helps the recollection of knowledge that is hidden within the collective unconscious of humankind, especially human lore lost over the course of the centuries. The same process is responsible for prophecy.
Perthro will assist the birthing of a great idea into your environment by raising awareness of the forces arrayed against its manifestation. Co-incidence and deja vu play an enormous role in the recognition of the fundamentals of this rune.
The beginning and end are set. What’s in between is yours. Nothing is in vain, all is remembered.”
Use Perthro for divination, health and healing, and spiritual clarity
PERTHRO is the womb/well into which Yggdrasil drops its berries to stimulate the birth of destiny. One might even say that the berries are the runes, fallen from the tree and taken up from the well, uniting male and female archetypes of creation.
