Good Saturday my friends! Hope your weekend is going well, mine…not so much, which lead me to todays rune. It is Ac of the Anglo-Saxon Futhorc and is a reminder to keep strong and sturdy throughout the day. Unbreakable like an ancient oak, never swaying in the wind. I think it also ties in to yesterdays Algiz pull in that I must remain protected. A few rounds of meditation and visualization along with prayer and grounding some energies did help, but I might have to reinforce that to get through the day. Gotta love holidays in retail. Hail!
ᚪ āc oak-tree of Odin. The rune of strength, sturdiness, and wisdom.
Anglo-Saxon rune poem **
ᚪ Ac byþ on eorþan elda bearnum
flæsces fodor, fereþ gelome
ofer ganotes bæþ; garsecg fandaþ
hwæþer ac hæbbe æþele treowe.
Translation **
Ac
The oak fattens the flesh of pigs for the children of men.
Often it traverses the gannet’s bath,
and the ocean proves whether the oak keeps faith
in honourable fashion.
