Wednesday w/the Emissary Program

Welcome friends, to another Wednesday w/the Emissary Program. A bittersweet one at that, as it is my last as Chancellor of the Emissary Program here at Awaken The North. There are no events planned for the week ahead, so let’s reflect and look forward shall we?

It’s been quite a journey, and while I won’t recount it all here I will say it’s been quite a system shock. And I’ve found a place where I can call home and all the many things I’ve learned on my path have finally come to a point where everything is just right.

When I took the reigns as CoEP a lot of things were already in place for me and I just had to take the reigns. We worked hard, refined things, created things, and made lasting friendships. We have grown, and I’m so proud of these people that I now call friends that it is a little sad to walk away. We’ve gained new emissaries, and lost some too, but we’ve all grown either way.

So now I start a new, totally unexpected journey. What started as “who can I help with what?” has turned in to me doing the daily runes, leading the monthly rune discussion on our amazing CoPa Calista’s “Runic Rabbit hole” deep dives, and working a bit on the certificate courses and Godar Training Course. Which led me to inquire to be Casey’s chair, for probably the 15th time. What I didn’t expect was for him to step down as Chancellor of Religious Studies and offer me up for that role as well as a unanimous vote from my fellow council members. Hopefully this will give him a chance to breathe a little. We all know he’ll never stop, the man is relentless and I’ve got some very large shoes to fill. But perhaps he can find at least a bit of rest, and I do love a challenge.

To say I’m honored is the biggest understatement I can recall ever having. While I am, and will continue to be the goofy, terrible joke telling, grumpy bear, I take this role with the utmost sincerity and hope to bring it the honor the title deserves.

What do I plan to bring to the table? Well, first and foremost at the moment is getting the certificate programs and GTC finished. I’m happy to say at this moment, we’re making some really good progress. And that’s all I can say on that at the moment. Beyond that, having an unending source of knowledge, lore, and resources available to our members is very important to me. And not just that, but the correct knowledge. We, as humans, are in a perpetual state of learning from birth to death. I think that’s a beautiful thing. We are never masters, only scholars on a path to more knowledge.

I’ve rambled on far too long. If you’ve made it this far, I thank you. I thank you for reading my posts every Wednesday, your questions, your kindness, guidance, and shared wisdom. Hail the Gods! Hail the Ancestors! Hail Awaken The North!
