Daily Rune – Tyr

Happy Saturday friends! Todays rune is Tyr. What comes to mind immediately is the one handed God of Justice himself. Tyr, I’ve never tried to connect with him if I’m being honest. But the call here is inevitable. Although Heimdallr, Frigg, Thor, and Odin hold places of high regard, as well as a few others, I think Tyr has found his place in my life. As polytheist’s it is only right we explore them all. And justice is served in this manner.

 Týr the rune of god Tyr. Divine order. The rune of “victory” and “honor”.

Sound: “t”, “d”, “nt”, “nd”

Meaning: In the world of the cosmos this rune represents orderliness. In the physical world, this rune signifies law and order.

Norwegian rune poem **

ᛏ Týr er æinendr ása;

opt værðr smiðr blása.

Translation **

ᛏ Tyr

Tyr is a one-handed god;

often has the smith to blow.
